Float plan · shore link · check-in
Leave word at the dock.
Before you head out, BoatDock turns your float plan into a private link for someone ashore. They can see when you left, when you are due back, and who is aboard. If you don't check in, the link says OVERDUE and tells them what to do next.
No account, no email, no app to install. A free dock covers one boat and as many float plans as you need (up to 2,000 per dock).

Fill the float plan
Boat description, who is aboard, where you are going, when you leave and when you will be back. The same facts as the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary's float plan form, saved so the next trip takes a minute.
Send the shore link
Text it to a partner, a friend or the marina office. They need nothing installed. They can add a calendar reminder for your due-back time.
Check in
Tap Back at the dock when you're tied up. Running late? Move the time from the water and the link updates. If neither happens, the link shows OVERDUE after your grace time.

Sea Wren
OVERDUE
Sea Wren was due back Sat 4:30 PM (1 h 10 min ago) and has not checked in.
What to do: 1. call the phones on the plan; 2. if you cannot reach anyone aboard, call the Coast Guard or 911 and read them the plan.
Caution
What BoatDock does not do
It does not track your boat, does not send texts or emails, and does not call the Coast Guard. A float plan works because a reliable person ashore holds it and acts on it. BoatDock makes the plan easy to give them and keeps it current. It is not an official Coast Guard service.
